About Dr. Nguyen
Dr. Simile Nguyen, O.D.
Dr. Simile Nguyen received a B.A. in Molecular Cellular & Developmental Biology at University of Colorado, Boulder and earned a Doctorate at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. During her four years optometric training she was an active Volunteer for clinical outreach events serving underserved communities, and was chosen to be a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honorary Society.
Dr. Nguyen diversified her experience in ocular disease management and surgical co-management during her clinical rotations at the Honolulu VA, the Santa Fe Indian Health Services and at two ocular surgery centers, one in Fairfield, Connecticut and one back at home in Denver, Colorado. She has gained extensive training in management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye disease. Dr. Nguyen is ecstatic to be able to provide the best vision care possible to the Durango Community! Outside the clinic you can find her hiking, camping, snowboarding or enjoying good food with friends and family.
About Dr. P
Dr. Anjali Paramanandam, O.D.
Dr. P’s journey began in a private practice many years ago as a high school student, where she found a lifelong passion for patient care that inspired her to pursue her optometry education. During her training, she specialized in managing a wide range of ocular diseases, demonstrating a deep understanding of conditions such as glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She is especially passionate about Myopia Control, and has the latest training on how to slow down the progression of nearsightedness in kids! Dr. P believes in the importance of advocating for her patients to receive the best quality care possible and is an active volunteer member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. P is excited to be in the area and to continue to serve the Durango community!
About Dr. Cap
Dr. Davis Capaccioli, O.D.
Dr. Davis Capaccioli completed his doctorate degree at the University of California at Berkeley, graduating with honors, after earning a B.S. in General Biology from the University of California at San Diego. He completed his four years of optometric training with clinical rotations in the Portland VA and Palo Alto VA Healthcare Systems.
Upon graduation, his UC Berkeley clinical instructors chose him as the recipient of the GP Lens Institute Clinical Excellence Award for his work in the fitting and care of contact lens patients. Along with his extensive training in glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy management, Dr. Capaccioli enjoys working with specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses for irregular and post-surgical corneas, and pediatric contact lenses to slow the progression of nearsightedness (myopia). He is particularly passionate about Dry Eye Disease management, and created Peak Eyecare to provide premier dry eye treatment options. Dr. Capaccioli moved to the best place in the world in 2017 with his wife Kira, and welcomed their firstborn son Owen in 2023 and Teagan in 2025. He is passionate about the community and volunteers at Durango Daybreak Rotary Club, Animas River Surfers, and Durango Vineyard Church.

I have suffered with chronic dry eyes for years. I have tried many different solutions but nothing seemed to work. I found Dr. Cap after searching for doctors that specialize in dry eyes. I made an appointment and we discussed the different options. I had 4 IPL treatments and I will admit I was very skeptical I would find relief. After the 4th treatment I was shocked with the difference. My eyes actually felt normal. No burning, dry, itching feeling all the time. Completely gone. It was a revelation! I came back for my follow up and Dr. Cap even commented on how clear my eyes looked, the red was gone. Not only is the treatment effective but the entire staff is kind and courteous. When you walk in everyone makes you feel like family. I HIGHLY recommend this practice to anyone and everyone, whether you have dry eyes or if you just need a new pair of glasses.
